This past weekend, the Global African Business Association (GABA) had the honor of attending the 60th birthday celebration of the City of Inkster, sponsored by the Inkster Chamber of Commerce. This significant milestone was a heartfelt acknowledgment of the vibrant community built over six decades.

Kimberly Faison, president of the Inkster Chamber of Commerce, welcomed attendees with warmth and enthusiasm, reminding everyone of the strength and resilience that define Inkster. Her leadership exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and community engagement that drives the city forward.

In attendance were Akindele Akinyemi, GABA's Board President, and Rhonna-Rose Akama-Makia, COO of GABA. Both were filled with gratitude and pride as they reflected on the shared history and aspirations for the future. Over a decade ago, GABA was founded in Inkster, born from a vision to uplift the community through economic empowerment and collaboration. This city has been a home where dreams have taken flight, and countless partnerships have blossomed.

The event was filled with laughter, stories, and a shared commitment to continue building a thriving Inkster. Contributions from those who came before were honored, inspiring attendees to forge ahead, hand in hand. Each attendee represented a piece of the rich tapestry that makes up Inkster’s identity—diverse, dynamic, and dedicated to progress.

As the community looks to the future, the lessons of the past remain vital, emphasizing the importance of unity. GABA remains committed to empowering businesses and fostering connections that uplift the community. Here’s to the next chapter of Inkster’s story—may it be filled with innovation, collaboration, and unwavering spirit!

Happy 60th Birthday, Inkster! Thank you for being the foundation upon which the community continues to grow and thrive together.
